Work Sample

Problem

  • Our customer has a product line that was redesigned on the back-end, leading to their customers needing to migrate from the legacy version to the updated version. The migration itself required technical work, and there are challenges involved with the final customers accepting the changes in metrics. One of those final customers utilized the legacy product to the fullest and built numerous customized dashboards for their own needs.

  • Due to the changes in the technical back-end of the product, as well as the changes in metrics the final customer in this case had a long and meticulous migration process that included the customer recalculating old data points with new metrics, and rebuilding old dashboards, plus the general migration steps.

Situation

  • Ease the final customers workload.

  • Provide the calculations for the customer to consider data between legacy and new versions of the product.

  • Rebuild custom dashboards and recreate custom queries to the customer's satisfaction.

Goal

Solution

  • The migration process itself was relatively scripted for almost all customers; in this case it was completely reworked.

  • The team worked with our client and the final customer to set up countless working sessions to make sure the product was rebuilt to their satisfaction. The product team and engineering team were brought in to explain how metrics were changed and how to recalculate old data to fit those changes. The customer to this day is a poweruser of the product and continuously provides their feedback due to their appreciation for the product and the degree of support they received.
